MEET THE DRIVER
When he was just 18 years old, NASCAR driver Joey Gase tragically lost his mother, Mary, to a sudden brain aneurysm. Faced with a difficult decision, Gase and his family decided to donate her organs to save and heal others. Later, they learned her gifts helped improve the lives of 66 people. Gase developed a passion for educating others on the need for organ, eye and tissue donation and honoring other heroes like his mom. His car frequently features his mom and other donor heroes who have given the gift of life, making it one of the most unique and meaningful cars in NASCAR.
ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
Each year, we proudly honor a heroic donor on driver Joey Gase's car during NASCAR weekend. We invite the honoree's family to join us before and during the XFinity Race for a unique behind-the-scenes experience and honor their loved one. This honor includes 3 separate special events:
- Handprints of Hope Ceremony: The honoree family and other invited guests take part in a ceremony to paint handprints and write messages on vinyl, which is added to Joey's car for the race
- Driver Meet & Greet / Practice: The honoree family is invited to the track the day before the race for a special photo session and meet & greet with Joey
- Race Day: The honoree family is invited to watch the race from Joey's pit box
More details will be provided DIRECTLY TO THE HONOREE's FAMILY IF SELECTED.
